2013 HOACGA Convention
The 2013 Heart of America Carnival Glass Association
(HOACGA) Convention will be April 24 - 28, 2013 at the
Embassy Suites Airport Hotel, Kansas City, MO (five
minutes from the Kansas City International Airport)
816-891-7788. All of the Hotel rooms are a two room
suite with a window for viewing your display of
glass for sale. For more information,

2011 HOACGA
Notebook Insert
The 2011 Notebook section (second of
three sections) is focused on a combination of
“Miniatures”, “Smalls” and/or “Novelties”. The
first section consisted of 240 colored
photographs with as much information as possible
about each piece. This Second section also
contains 240 colored photographs with information
about each item. The lack of information in a
single publication (In most cases any
publication) about these items is the reason for
this Notebook section. It is intended to provide
information to the present and future Carnival
glass collector and others that have an interest
in items such as these.

BULLETIN CHANGE
by Bob Grissom & Emmett Morgan
Previously, if you were a Texas Carnival Glass
Club (TCGC) and HOACGA member you received a
bulletin from both clubs. If you were only a
TCGC or HOACGA member you only received
information from the club for which you were a
member. With this “Combined Bulletin” you are
now receiving information from both clubs. As
you see it has undergone a visual change, but
the important thing it contains most of the same
information that you have been used to seeing in
the past.
We are sure the
first question is WHY THE CHANGE?
One of the most
difficult jobs in any club is that of Bulletin
Secretary, and the fact is, the ones that have
been doing it for some time want to take a rest.
The task of the Bulletin Secretary is to OBTAIN
THE INFORMATION, ORGANIZE THE INFO, GET IT
PRINTED and MAILED or E-MAILED and then wait and
see who didn’t get there copy so they can supply
them a copy and then update the roster. Both
TCGC & HOACGA are running out of people that are
willing to take over this very important task.
With this “Combined Bulletin” it will make the
task of the Bulletin Secretary easier. If a club
is not able to communicate with their members
there will be no club.
If you, and many
collectors are, a member of both clubs then you
are paying dues to each club, and receive their
bulletin. With a “Combined Bulletin” you can
receive information about both clubs and only
pay the bulletin cost of $25.00 to the club of
your choice. You may continue to be member of
each club, but at a reduced membership fee of
$10.00. It is our hope that each of you will be
a member of both HOACGA & TCGC.
The bulletin will
be printed 6 times each year, starting this
month, January. It is then proposed to be every
other month. This is a totally new adventure for
both clubs, but one we think will be of a mutual
benefit. It will take some experience to
determine the proper timing and make-up of the
bulletin.
When your
membership is due in either club you can
continue your membership in each club for $10.00
and then choose which club you want to receive
the bulletin from for $25.00.
WE WELCOME YOUR
COMMENTS about the new bulletin. It is the
intent to supply information of importance about
the clubs and Carnival Glass to members. For the
benefit of telling the Carnival Glass story, we
the collector need all of the organizations.
We TCGC & HOACGA
welcome any of the other clubs to join us in
this new way of supplying info to our members.
We have not pursued the joining with other clubs
for the simple reason, we would like to have
some experience with a few bulletins so we know
more details of this adventure.
