The Y2012 Heart of America Carnival Glass Assn convention will be April 26-29 at the Kansas City Embassy Suites Airport Hotel (same as previous years). Room reservations may be made by calling the Hotel at 816-891-7788 say that you are with the Heart of America Carnival Glass group. The rate is $115.00 +tax (20%). This includes a cooked to order breakfast and the manager’s reception (happy hour) each day.

SPECIAL DRAWING: There will be a drawing for pieces of glass Iridized by TERRY CRIDER at each planned event (excluding Pizza, Cake & Pie). The tickets for the drawing(s) are $10.00 per couple (2 tickets). Only one winner per ticket.

“FENTON GREEN” will be the glass featured in the Major Display. Viewing of the display will be Thursday evening and Friday, with an explanation of the pieces on Friday morning.

ROOM DISPLAY. You are encouraged to bring a Room Display for the enjoyment of those in attendance. You may display glass in any of these categories:
Same Maker -- Same Color -- Same Shape --- Same Pattern—Your Theme – Rarity
A $50.00 prize will be given for the winner in each category. The display judged as the best of the convention will receive $100.00. Each room displaying glass will receive an award. You are encouraged to bring glass to sell from your room.

WEDNESDAY: April 25 ---Pizza & Soft Drinks served.

THURSDAY: April 26 ---Check-In of the “GREEN FENTON” Glass

Viewing of Contemporary Carnival Glass which will be auctioned at 9:00 p.m.

BUD MARTIN of Little Rock, Arkansas will present an educational program. His talk will be “H. NORTHWOOD & CO”. You will enjoy his talk and presentation of Northwood glass. Bud has an extensive Carnival glass collection.

Cake & Coffee will be served prior to the auction of about 50 pieces of contemporary carnival glass from the Ann McMorris collection. There will be some very nice pieces of contemporary carnival glass.(a complete listing will be available at a later date). Jim Seeck will auction the glass.

FRIDAY ---- April 27 ---- Talk and presentation of the “GREEN FENTON” glass.

LUNCHEON and the presentation of “The JOHN & LUCILE BRITT AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE IN CARNIVAL GLASS”. This years recipient is JOHN WOODY. He was a major instrument in the promotion of Carnival Glass through his auctions. The early auctions were almost like another convention, we all awaited the auctions.

ANNUAL BUSINESS MEETING: The annual business meeting & election of officers will follow the Luncheon and Presentations of the BRITT award.

PREVIEW of the ARNOLD & DOROTHY SNELL collection presented by the SEECK AUCTION CO. The auction will be Saturday April, 30. There will be something in this Auction for every collector.

SATURDAY --- April 28 ---AUCTION OF THE ARNOLD & DOROTHY SNELL collection. The Snell’s have been collecting Carnival Glass since the late 1960’s and there will be very good glass to fit every collectors pocketbook.

AUCTION OF WHIMSEYS and a DRAWING for $1000.00 ( $500, $300, & $200) at the Banquet (you do not have to be present to win). Tickets for the drawing are $10 for 12 chances or $25 for 36 chances.

We are please to have GARY HEAVIN as the Banquet speaker. Gary is an active participating member of many of the Carnival Clubs. His subject is “RECOGNIZING AND OPPORTUNITY” and will be speaking about and showing several select pieces form his collection. We are looking forward to Gary’s presentation.

IF YOU ARE A COLLECTOR OF CARNIVAL GLASS AND DO NOT ATTEND THE CONVENTION, THEN YOU ARE MISSING A GREAT OPPORTUNITY TO INCREASE YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF THE GLASS BY HEARING SOME INTERESTING SPEAKERS and seeing an special display of “FENTON GREEN ” pieces. You might also find a piece of glass at a bargain price in one of the rooms.

IT IS OUR GOAL TO PRESENT PROGRAMS AND SPEAKERS THAT WILL FURTHER YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF CARNIVAL GLASS.
